#1 ASUS ROG Ally RC71L (NR2301L_MB) - Not powering on / charging

Hello
I was unsure what forum to post this in as essentially it is a handheld PC/Laptop.
I received this unit and it does not power on or take a charge at all. With a USB-C ammeter i can see it negotiates 20v but no current is drawn at all and pressing the power button does nothing. But after disassembling it further i noticed that once the two anolog control stick boards are disconnected from the mainboard the device will charge and power on as normal. The two control stick boards are connected together by a flex cable and connect to the main board via the left hand side board. There are a lot more ICs on the left side board with two ITE chips 8237FN120A and 8237FN248A. Also a smaller IC SGM5200-XTQL32. I have replaced the left side board and there was no change.
There is also a distorted audio problem too, but am unsure if it is related to this issue or a secondary fault, but have been focusing on the main issue first.
Please see attached images of the main board and controller boards. There does seem to be a lot of issues with these ROG Ally and charging problems when searching online but can not find very much info at all about this specific problem. Thank you
