Asus Zephyrus G16-GU603VV problem z GPU

GPU: RTX4060 120W

Problem: Grafika w max obciążeniu pobiera około 60W, ponieważ wykrywany jest pobór 130W na VRAM (wg GPU-Z MVDDC Power Draw). Pobór ten jest również w idlu, temperatura vramu 65°C. Zakładam, że problem jest z samym pomiarem pobieranego prądu, gdyż przy 130W mosfety jak i same vramy by się świeciły a na termowizji jest ok. Wymieniony został kontroler faz zasilania VRAM rt8820agqw, rezystor pomiarowy oraz dual mosfety na tej linii, niestety nic to nie zmieniło. Bios zaktualizowany do najnowszego. Rezystancja na VRAM jest około 70Ω, żadna z kości nie grzeje się bardziej niż inne. Proszę o podpowiedź gdzie jeszcze szukać problemu, niestety brak schematu utrudnia poszukiwania.

Czy pobór nie zmienia się w zależności od źródła zasilania (akumulator, zasilacz)? Czy używany jest oryginalny zasilacz o mocy 240 W?
Zakładam, że sprawdzasz sprzęt pod Windowsem. Próbowałeś różnych wersji sterowników do GPU, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem fabrycznych sterowników ze strony ASUS-a?

Pobór nie zmienia się w zależności od źródła zasilania, zasilacz oryginalny, sprawdzany także na innych. Sprzęt sprawdzany pod windowsem, sterowniki próbowanie różne, czy to ze strony asusa, czy z windows update, czy ze strony nvidia. Do tej pory próbowałem jeszcze podmieniać wsad VBIOS oraz podmieniać wartości rezystora pomiarowego czy też go pomijać - totalnie nic to nie zmieniło. Zaczynam podejrzewać problem z samym chipem GPU.

Few days ago i had similar problem with the same motherboard, but in that case GPU shows over 300W consumption, unfortunately customer didn't leave laptop for diagnostic.

Was this board spilled? The solder joints seems dark and there are liquid residues around the chip U6100.

Measure the resistances between listed pins of chip U5300:
- Between pin 1 and pin 2.
- Between pin 1 and pin 3.
- Between pin 4 and pin 5.
- Between pin 4 and pin 6.

Measure the voltages to ground on pins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30 of chip U5300.

I know that this motherboard looks spilled, but the customer does not know its past because he bought a used laptop. What I saw was quite a mess from the application of poor quality thermo gel. I also suspected that someone may have spilled liquid metal when pulling off the cooling ineptly. The board was cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner and I tried to blow out any residual liquid metal from under the chips.

1-3 - 50,4Ω
4-5 - 100,2Ω
4-6 - 50,5Ω / 50,4Ω

- Measure the resistance to ground on pin 30 of chip U5300.
- Measure the value of marked resistor:

Sterownik przetwornicy na poniższym zdjęciu wygląda, jakby miał ukruszony rant i pęknięcie w głąb obudowy:

Sugeruję wymienić ten układ na nowy.

resistor when on the board 6,5kΩ, when removed from the board 10kΩ

Trochę ignorowałem to pęknięcie bo to przetwornica 3/5V ale faktycznie też może coś psuć.

Measure the voltage to ground on another pin of this resistor (the pin not connected to the chip U5300):

The voltage is 3,37V

Replace the chip U5300 (NCP45495XMNTWG).

According to datasheet, this chip is programmable, do you think that I should try to read it first, or the new one should have some default data?
I found NCP45492 on another motherboard, can I use it as replacement?

I don't think this chip requires programming - just replace it.

No, you can't as this chip has a different pinout.

Right, i didn't compare datasheets carefully. But... you were right, this chip (NCP45495) was broken, i repaced it and now MVDDC Power Draw is 10W max and GPU working normally. I didn't know that there is another chip for power consumption measurment, i thought that this is in gpu power phase controller, always something new to learn. Thanks a lot for this!
