#1 General question - programming I/O Management Chips (ITE/ene/nuvoton...)

Hi there,

i'm not a newbe but never had such case before, so i'm unsure ... i have a pegatron VG20SQG-Board with burnt Richtek RT6575B. After removing and a closer look i think KBC-Controller (IT8587E) is defective, too (shorted +3V/GND). I have read somwhere, that these I/O-Controllers have to be programmed, so i can't use a new one without programming. Is this right? If yes...where can i get dump-files for specific mainboards?

Thanks in advance.
Boerge

Hello Boerge. These ITE EC controllers are programmable (but I'm not sure whether it must be programmed on this particular board as there are two separated BIOS flash chips, 2MB and 4MB). You can search over our forum for the files or, if not available yet, just ask for the wanted dump files here: zapytania-dokumentacje-bios-f113.html - please note that you need to read forum rules before you open a new thread: ogloszenie-zasady-dzialu-zapytania-o-schematy-bios-t9944.html
