Hello!

It may be a corrupted firmware or bad FLASH chip. You should reflash/replace the FLASH chip, but it is not easy on this board, because the FLASH chip is in the BGA package if I'm not mistaken. It is also very hard to get a proven dump, except if you have another the same board in working condition or with a different issue.

You can try to heat / freeze the FLASH chip when the TV is turned off and turn on the TV, when the FLASH chip is hot / cold. It sometimes help, if the FLASH chip is bad.

I had the same case on older LG TV. In my case reflashing the FLASH chip solved the issue (mine FLASH chip was in the TSOP48 package).

If the TV reacts to heating / cooling the FLASH chip it means that the FLASH chip is bad and needs to be replaced.

I tough was a solder balls issue like GPU, there is a seller who sell EMMC for LG motherboard programmed, but he told me that smart card hardware will not work anymore.
Is it the firmware chip?
I found an used motherboard €70.
Chip was damaged by a thing or is it a known LG defect?

It is probably also possible that the connections (solder balls) between the FLASH chip and APU are broken, but I haven't had this case on TV yet. You could try to reflow the FLASH chip and APU to exclude that option, but I think it is more likely FLASH related issue.
I think the eMMC and FLASH is the same thing, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't know how often is this defect, because I don't have much experience with TV motherboard repair. I had such case once as mentioned.
