It depends on the compatibility of KBC chip firmware and BIOS. And yes, it consequently depends on the version of the new BIOS dump.
If you reflash the BIOS with a dump of exactly the same version as originally, there is no need to reflash the KBC chip, as its firmware in the BIOS remains the same as originally.
Sometimes it also works with a different version of the new BIOS dump, as long as it's compatible with the firmware version of the KBC chip.
It's usually impossible to know which KBC chip firmware and BIOS versions are compatible without the test.
